I think the Five in 1A indicates the fifth letter E.
ReplyDeleteWith regard to "Regularly end day with a whirl (4)", in my opinion is the clue is just fine.
ReplyDeleteRegularity comes from the fact that you use the 1st and 3rd letter of "end" and "day" to string together EDDY.
