  2. Yes,extremely enjoyable.Learned about "pi dog" today.

  3. We used to use the word pi dog in school. Never knew that it was a legitimate word.

  4. 'pi' is short for a word that is taboo in our country. So be warned!

  5. Clog also refers to a wooden-soled shoe, hence the use of 'wood' in the clue seems to be doubly relevant

  6. Thanks, Col.for yesterday's mind-bender. Knees up? Where does the Church figure?

Still no answer on that bare question on NUDISM? Dunno?

What does the Chatur compiler say?

  7. Raju@12.35-
Nudism-As col. has given in the anno,is a CD.Nudists remain uncovered on principle. No splitting like NUD & ism.

  8. Thanks, Paddy. a bit too far-fetched. I don't like it, tho' I got the answer alright. Anyway, I don't want to split a hair with a sledge hammer.
I still want to know where the Church figures in the other equally dubious clue.

  9. Raju, A Bender, one who bends down in Church, kneels down, on his knee, which is a hinge joint.

  10. KIshore: That's some justifying and rationalizing.

Bending is not kneeling !! You just kneel on the pew and then bow, right? Like in Kenya, there was a saying that became popular amongst the fallen politicians that losing is not falling.

Again, CE or CH was the only connotation that used to be featured in relation to churches-- Church of England-CE- or CH as a short form of church. We cannot bend ourselves backwards !!

Col will also agree that : Neeche gir pade par mooch me matti nahin aaye!

Such clues call for a'going round the bender!'

We'll get unhinged, at this rate.

Not worried about mud on the moustache, since mine is lying safe from moochers, in the bank locker. Regarding unhinged, all here will agree that all here are already unhinged. So at the worst (or is it best ?), we will only get ununhinged or rather hinged.
