You're hundred per cent right. I think that that was the setter's intention. "[C]aptures" is more an inserticator than an aggregator.

  5. 3D, is the definition all right? Thought clues like 18D and 23D could have been avoided. Otherwise a nice puzzle.

    1. Who said laceration is funny? The clue states 'In funny act, leader...' with 'funny' serving as the anagram indicator.

  7. A certain actress of India, who is going to be a "cover girl", having posed for Playboy in the manner that models usually do for that magazine, has said that she deserves a Bharat Ratna.

I just cannot understand how the claim comes in.

    Any suggestions?

    1. Not that I'm defending her or something, well, one possible explanation could be that she's the first Indian to appear on the cover of that particular magazine. It's an achievement, all right, and some might argue that the cover has certain artistic value. So it could be categorized as an achievement in the field of art. And people with similar artistic inclination are most likely to believe she's a "gem." Of course, it's a fact that she's an Indian and hence the Bharat Ratna. A long shot.
