  1. One of the T's seems to have fallen into 28A by mistake

    1. All that I can say is: "Apologies".
The CWD went thru many checks but the extra T proved elusive.

    2. I am going out now and will be away all day. So no further Comments are possible.

Before that, let me add a note: The photo was taken with my mini iPad from a mid-landing/balcony on the first floor of an ancient apartment building in Kalkota during a visit in mid-last year. It was a brief pause as I was climbing up to the second floor. My wife was just a little ahead but she had no clue as to what I was up to.

    3. Yesterday's left over T, as rightly pointed out by P.

Yesterday's surplus T also figures in 26A (6 Ts in all) and in 9a as PAN Ts

    5. Sorry CV Sir, but I find the pic inappropriate unless it was given voluntarily by the person who owns the objects of interest in it. Maybe they do not have private space in their home to hang stuff to dry, or whatever, but that doesn't mean we could take pictures of a person's intimate wear and post them on an open blog.

  2. Yesterday's regular Sunday CW had this clue

18 Funny, Colonel drinking mineral (7) COMICAL {CO{MICA}L} It's not funny! I'll be drinking Vodka at Noon today and not mineral !!

What happened at the S&B meet yesterday was definitely not funny as those who attended would know. My apologies to all those who attended. It is something which has happened to me for the first time in my life and I have no clue as to how it happened as I definitely did not overindulge. In fact when discussing the matter with Kishore later I find that certain periods of time have totally disappeared from my memory as though I had a total blackout, I just do not remember handing over the prizes to Kishore and Mohsin. My apologies once again.

The initial lines about *ed clues put me out a bit, but I persisted and soon enough things started settling down. Thank you Gridman for a nice inside view. He has gone on from half back (support) to fullback today!

  15. An excerpt from today's madras Miscellany column by Muthiah in today's Chennai edition-
"Boddam was also responsible for persuading the local citizenryto found a 'Pinjrapole'. How many have heard this word and anyone have any clue to its origin?

    ReplyDelete
  16. PINJRAPOLE: There is a place in Central Bombay by this name?

Something to do with a trap ? I remember vaguely that this was the Trafalgar Square OF Bombay with lots of pigeons Gutturogooing to be fed ? I stand to be corrected !

Today"s theme by Gridman has at last betrayed that COD of his that I I was hinting at all along which none of you cryptic solvers could discern nor decipher !!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I reckon, I'm mistaken. Though there is a place in Bombay called Pinjrapole, I got it worng for Kabootarkhana ! Pinjrapole is a shelter home for Stray animal, cattle and such like, created by the British Raj-- a form of SPCA !
