GARNER is a verb. The 'a' in the clue makes 'store' a noun. GARNER is a noun that is archaic, no longer in use.. If 'a' were not there, 'store' will be a noun in surface reading while as def for word reqd it will do a switcheroo as verb.
This is not tot ake away from the merit of other clues.

    2. Also I personally don't prefer "mostly" when you leave out two letters instead of "one".

  18. 26 Cocaine Pole hid in pig? (4)

WP is OK but the surface reading does not make sense, does it? Well, if read carefully, the surface does make sense, only you wonder where inside the pig the Pole hid the drug.
