  4. Extract of comment on Saturday:

    There are a few more theme references for this puzzle which came out between Army Day and Republic Day. Also, there is a subsidiary theme, which is probably a bit more obscure and extends to the next puzzle too, which might become clearer on Monday.

    1. Could identify the following words related to Army: Dug in..decamp...alfonso.. patrol..pineapple..plane...red baron...star..dont know if gargantua forms part of the theme

    2. As I said, Vasant, it's a bit obscure. But it relates to one of the top comedy shows ever aired by BBC having some top actors.

    3. Nope. The serial name is illustrated by the Colonel! Red Baron and most of the military terms are part of the theme.

    4. Thanks for the liberal hint...the said series is Black Adder(wiki shows Rowald Atkins of Mr Bean fame as the protagonist)...i could identify Captain... Darling...General...Red Baron as given by you...waiting for other theme words to be unearthed
