  13. No Suresh: How could it be? It does not fit in for 2 down: Your own answer for 8 across is correct. Let wait for the final grid.

For some reason, I had difficulty with Acrosslite grid today as the grid and the clues were minuscule and too small for comfort ! Some how I managed to complete . How did it appear to other solvers?

Wonderful word play and cluing by the cryptologist: Dr Nabar: Many more to be expected as it is a sheer joy to do your puzzles !

  20. A typical Doc's Sunday Special! Felt the bar has been raised this time. Overall it was an enjoyable solve. Thanks.
A small doubt though! When cross-checking found POPINJAY is some kind of a 'parrot'! Of course 'peacock' is a fashionable bird!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Thanks! Popinjay means a vain or conceited person; someone who struts around like a peacock...

    Copy pasting from Chambers---

    popinjay
    n
dandy, fop, beau, coxcomb, peacock, pansy, swell, dude colloq. toff

ETYMOLOGY: 16c; 13c in archaic sense 'parrot': from French papegai parrot, from Spanish papagayo, from Arabic babbaga.
