    1. Isn't this two levels of indirection since it's not a direct synonym?

    1. That is not Col.'s question. He is asking for def., which seems to be 'He' according to the clue. Is it justified? Or Tyrant is supposed to be 'contrary' to resistance worker?

    2. He is God in Judaism. Does On the contrary indicate tyrant!!

    3. Par=tie is ok but def seems to be a stretch...opposite of resistance worker may not be tyrant

    4. Tyrant also means Taskmaster. So, this may serve the contrary part.

    1. The clue could have stopped at beggar but mandicant also means beggar man and beggar woman. Better surface reading.

  9. 15D: Typo in the answer. It should be TEAMMATE

  10. Col: Correction of typo: TAM MATE and not TEAMATE.

I liked OPERATING SYSTEM in its construction. TIGHTROPE WALKER is what Asparrame made us all to do , today ! Is he .by any chance, a distant cousin of the other deletions & additions expert compiler here ? I had Chinese noodles for LUnch on two days and could have done without one today ! Enough- UGH !

  11. sorry TEAM MATE above . What does one call such repeating of typos while correcting ?

    1. I call it SPAUSE syndrome. Because we don't pause after space bar to correct autocorrect.
