Delete'Announcement' here is part of def. and no homonym involved, IMO.
Delete"Reportedly" is the homophone indicator.
DeleteI took it as 'reportedly stops' to mean Banns ( for bans) So pronunciation of Banns as Banz does not enter the picture.
DeleteHp means bans and banns should be pronounced same!!!!
