    I think 9ac is a clue where you have to read the sentence as a whole and get the answer from the intended/implied breakup, without having to give the anno as we do normally.

      I recalled my school days when I had first read the St Ives rhyme. On many occasions, I had used it as a conundrum and explained that the answer was 1.

    Challenging but satisfying grid from Buzzer today. Could not get the anno for some even after solving them! Also was misled by the wrong enum in the online version.
    One question:
    Nursery worker gather, trims edges regularly (8)
    Is there a POS issue in the surface reading? Shouldn't it be "Nursery worker gathers"? Or am I reading it wrong?

      I think Ramki and Raghunath are talking about the Parts of Speech (POS) issue in this clue.

      That is what I have been trying to understand. What is the part of speech issue? For the surface, 'gather' as in 'hear' or ' infer' or 'conclude' is what I meant.
