      House= race (as in dynasty, family, etc), Door minus o(old) and or(men) at the back of house. Hence race + d. Defn = Bolted

    Loved the lifeboat- apt surface.
    'fail in educational institution' to get 'lege', looks stretched.
    But for the explanations given above, I was able to do the rest without any outside ref.
