ReplyDelete22d from the standpoint of foliage leaves don’t go.
ReplyDeleteI see 'old man' in different forms.
ReplyDelete1a INC is still official party. Old?
ReplyDelete... been there for a long time.
DeleteProbably, with so many splits in the party, the grand old INC is extinct!
Delete17A-DD seems fine,
ReplyDeleteInside job is a crime, that is done from within or 'not without'.
I took 17A as a CD-looks fine to me too.
Delete1A- Is princess royal or royalty? Adj./ noun?
ReplyDeleteRoyal as noun stands for Royal Person too.
DeletePrincess Royal is a Substantive title customarily (but not automatically) awarded by a British monarch to his or her eldest daughter.

Oh! Did not think of it.
DeleteYes, he is royal & he is a royal- both are right.
Thank you KKR & Prasad.
DeleteNice grid and nice blog. Thanks to both.
ReplyDeleteRamesh's blog is taken for granted to be superb as much as his pangrams.
ReplyDelete5 DDs and 6 CDs - an unusual for Grindman?
ReplyDeletesomeone complained lack of CDs in yesterday's crossword.
DeleteNot unusual
DeleteSurprising that the solution for 7D appears verbatim in the referred clue 16D. A major lapse by Gridman
ReplyDelete7d looks not at any part of the clue 16d but at the solution which I'd ROADKILL for which another word is REMAINS.
Delete* is
DeleteI didn't find any lapse. In fact the two were the last ones in for me.
DeleteThe Chef of an Italian restaurant made such RAVIOLI that soon turned out to be his PASSPORT to STARDOM.
ReplyDeleteA PRINCESS heard about this and arranged for an INSIDE JOB. She CAST OFF her Royal image and slipped out despite BARKING dogs and tight security PROVISION.
IN A WORD she had great food, Ravioli, GLASSFUL of wine, et al.
Whether her joy RIDE came to be known, REMAINS to be seen.
Lovely!
DeleteGood one, C.G. Bhargav.
DeleteShall we offer the Princess GLASSFUL of CLARET in stead?
ReplyDeleteThough very inhuman, ROADKILL is a very good cryptic clue. So is LANCE CORPORAL> Enjoyed today's crossie ! Thanks Gridman.
ReplyDeleteSolution 5th round up. One mistake. :(
ReplyDelete😥
DeleteSad to note this Ram.
DeleteI anticipated around three! Lucky.
DeleteYes, I remember your comments last week.
DeleteI anticipated around three! Lucky.
DeleteIXL:Results of 5th round are out
ReplyDeleteThanks Vasant. No reds in my grid !
Delete💪💪👍👍👍👍
DeleteSince this was an easier grid, now time matters. I took 33 minutes which I felt was a bit on the higher side. Supersolvers would have sub 15 min times.
