17d B extra?
ReplyDeleteYes. Like Afterdark, I too did not notice it!
Delete25a AS->asia/east. In->middle. My understanding.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that what I have shown?
DeleteAS planetary terminology for Asia referred as EAST by British (empire days).
Delete5d (beta)CIT is a cocaine extract.
ReplyDeleteThen is caught just a link word?
Deletemy understanding, yes. CIT is a form of a cocaine (preperation).
DeleteI thought 21d could be Ganesh (Gemini Ganesh) as well!
ReplyDeleteme too untill online version forced me to change.
DeleteSo, Col. is right,after all.
Deleteand I realised ganesh is used in gult (Telugu) movies only.
Delete21D- I put it in as Ganesh-esp. Gemini being there. Strange they are anagrams.
ReplyDeleteWill non TN people find it difficult to get all the actors or they are all fairly well known?
I am not that well versed with Tamil movies but I didnt find any problem. The actors too are very well known so that if you know Sivaji Ganeshan you would certainly know Savitri.
DeleteAnd whenever we meet our cousins there is a mandatory discussion on Tamil movies, actors of old, present actors and movies. Though I am solent during these discussions, the nuggets of information are stored.
Typo silent instead of solent
Delete28A- Force gives 'Go' & stand 'Lie'?
ReplyDeletestand/lie (exist, be present). Relative position indicators. Where does your loyalty lie/stand.
DeleteThank you Prasad.
DeleteHe sure has seen many a MOVIE from GEMINI. The pair SIVAJI GANESAN and SAVITRI with NAMBIAR and NAGESH. He is not from MIAMI or the MIDDLE EAST. He is a TAMIL from ASIA. He has written a book about a person who has played many a TITLE ROLE.
ReplyDeleteHe is from Madurai and might have been a GOALIE in his school days. He will not allow anything to go beyond him.
In the beginning as a salesman he might have sold many an AMALGESIC.
He is now in the MASS MEDIA. He loves to ELICIT the best from those under him who have INITIATIVE. We are going to see him enter IN STYLE on December 3. Yes he is our own and you know who he is.
Yes, he is AD- short for advertisement as well.
DeleteThats a fantastic intro!
DeleteThe book referred is MGR = A Biography by Shrikanth Veeravalli (AD)
ReplyDelete27a time is H (not T). Typo.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't a typo. Time=Hour=H is what AD intended like you have mentioned.
DeleteIXL Solutions are up. Luckily no mistakes.
ReplyDelete'Black filmy women's dress' put a black mark- no,red mark- in my solution.
ReplyDelete2 more chances remain- let me be hopeful.
There is a Nina in the puzzle. The nina I think is appropriate as pnly two rounds are left
ReplyDeleteThe puzzle I thought had the mark of Gridman written all over it( sans his favourite supporter)
ReplyDeletesupporter replaced by what I quoted above? not very far from it!
ReplyDeleteThough I am not a great fan of Tamil films, I could easily pick out the names. Eons ago, I remember having seen Parasakthi. AD's puzzles are ok for non-Tamil solvers as they connecting letters lead you on.
ReplyDeleteAgain , in the last week's ICL, I earned all correct. As Paddy says, two more to go. This series seems to carry not much punch ?
At 34 minutes, I am placed at 26th position!Akshay Bhandarkar was 1st with 15 minutes! There are some serious super solvers out there.
ReplyDeleteSubmitted around 45 minutes placed in 54th. A long way to go
