    Survey results of the 9th Anniversary Jumbo Community Grid

    As mentioned earlier I got only 11 responses for the best clue. 25 words got votes. As some have desired I shall therefore publish the result.

    TROUBLE SPOT by Vasant got 3 votes for the best clue and OMELETTES by Ajeesh got 2 votes for the best clue. Others that got a vote each for the best clue were BIRD FLU, ARABIAN SEA, EVOCATIVE, TOM SAWYER, STRESSFUL and SANGAREE.

    OLD HIGH GERMAN by Bhavan and GODSONS by Ramki got 2 votes each for second best clue. Others that got a vote each for the second best clue were MEDIAN, IN UTERO, STRESSFUL, DONER KEBAB, HUMANIST, NETBALL and LITERAL.

    10a seems to refer to hillside strangler. Bed wetting was one of the common childhood behaviour of strangers.

      Yes my initial anno was {EL{E}{V}ATE} with the question mark as where the E came from. This happens to all setters quite frequently when on letter gets overlooked

    Re 8D: One could not fill in DAISES in the online version. It showed DRIVEL. Secondly Chambers shows plural of DAIS as DAISIES? Maybe a typo in it.

    Oh before the summer HOLIDAYS!

    Among the FLORA stood Robert in the garden. A SINGLETON always accompanied by his TERRIER. After mixing mud with some POTASH he placed the pot on the CEMENTED platform, below the temporary SCAFFOLD.
    As he entered the house his GRANDSON approached him asking him for a maxim which would elevate the morale of the students. He had to announce it after RECITAL of the school prayer.

    Thanks Vasant for your comments about your daughter. I wish compilers used their own names so that we can identify them with the pattern or style of each, though more or less , one can still guess now.

    Secondly, I didn't see the results grid of the Anniversary puzzle on Monday or on Tuesday or----- How come? Did any one else saw ? Please clarify, Col, as to hw this has happened . Wham, bam, swallowed by Spam ?

    Lastly, Thanks for publishing the results of the survey. Congrats to Vasant for topping the list and all others with a lesser grade. This will help others to improve their own standards.

      29A: 'at' is redundant but is perfectly acceptable to suit the surface.
      3D: I too thought 'let in' was admit, but https://www.thefreedictionary.com/let+on gives 'let on' 1. To allow to be known; admit:'let on'
