The bouncer and the dancer - Part 55
CLEMENT Blake the bouncer was found sitting DEWY EYED in his restaurant after returning from a trip to VENICE. SALTY tears ran down his cheeks.
LOBSTER in front of him on the table did not interest him.
TRAVEL had made him wiser. He had been given GEMS of wisdom by a COMPEER who had POINTED out certain developments in Shangri-la. His OWN GOAL of amassing wealth had been kind of SABOTAGED by the late night dances at Gemini.
MUST ANGst ruin him? Of course not. He will ENDURE it no more! How could dance performances SCARE him? He will soon make NIGGARDS in Shangri-la shell out money like mad!!
3DN AR=arrive as per Freedict

Delete+1 for 7DN, Col (unless debt has a synonym as ??ET or ET??)
ReplyDeleteHalf->even steven's
DeleteHow would you get ET from that?
DeleteE &T are even (Stevens of) debt
DeleteI guessed so. But it is far-fetched. Probably AD would not also have it in his mind.
DeleteI took it ET as half of debt. G(AUNTL)ET. A replacing I in UNTIL.(one walked out)
DeleteWe all did that, looking at the wordplay.
DeleteBut 50% is cutting into half.
This selection of letters is like odd, even, regularly etc, right?
I understand- 50% is not like first or second half. But, in the absence of any better explanation I thought he took the liberty in stead of saying of even.
DeleteIf you see 24DN, it was taken in the right direction as four into two
DeleteWonderful CGB, I look forward for tomorrow's strip?!
ReplyDeleteStrip?!
DeleteYes, saw the drawing of CGB?
DeleteCGB,
ReplyDeleteMustang was well done- like a T clue.
