DeleteMy intention was:
DeleteOrgan=paper, so organic=relating to paper
Last time, when this solution appeared in THC, I got inspiration to clue it in my next attempt. And here it is.
oh, i took it as "dope free" (unaulterated) -> organic.
DeleteGuess it is CD then; but an interesting solution variation from Sree
DeleteYou are right KPS.
DeleteSree, if it is dope free, it becomes indirect anagram.
20 down TALE B AN

DeleteMany thanks for your time in solving my grid. My sincere apologies for not actively participating in the discussions as I was compelled to attend to my relative's house. There was a gas cylinder blast in their premises and fortunately, none was injured. The incident happened when my relative was trying to replace the empty cylinder with the new one. When the cap was removed, gas started leaking and attempts to stop failed. All the inmates immediately evacuated. The blast was so severe that the entire kitchen and hall, ceiling fans got totally damaged.
ReplyDeleteThe main door was smashed and all the window glasses shattered. The neighbours window glasses were also badly damaged. It happened two days back in the evening.
My appeal to all of you is to check the refill cylinders on delivery to your home. Ask the delivery boy to open the seal in the open place (not inside your home/apartment) and only then get it into your premises.
Indeed we should do the check as suggested by you.
DeleteAlso please check the inner part of the bottom rim for snakes. During rainy season snake coils nicely into the groove;
Oh! An incident that could happen anywhere, anytime. Thanks for sharing.
DeleteThanks Col for publishing my grid.
ReplyDeleteLovely puzzle, KKR. Challenging and enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the special KKR. Just got back from Vellore.
ReplyDelete27 across remains unsolved. Sree_sree has positively commented on the clue at 11:06, but none solved it.
ReplyDeleteYou are right. Perhaps MB's solving of 15A hinting at 27A made everyone forget it!
DeleteIt is ENAMOR ROMAN(-c)E<
Thanks.
Deletemb as good as solved it while solving 15a. so i did not stress it/ but yes, technically should have highlighted.
DeleteThanks, KKR gaaru, for a woderfully put together grid. I could solve this only after 10am here in New Haven as many other voracious solvers back there had gobbled up most of the solutions ! There were a few pearls of pithy clues that got me scratching my amygdala ! Like, ON DIT, OP ED, OH BOY, Oh my God, IF ONLY etc. I was sure of ON DIT but got puzzled by SITARS which must have been the first to be inserted by many, I'm sure. SISTRA was way out of my street to strum ! ENAMOR and ENORM are really well- thought of ! TEE HEE for tete e tete ! Why would one not insert GOES NORTH when there is a fall in value ? Obviously, I'd look for a recovery ! TALIBAN will get tanned and turn tails when an E is replaced for an I (SIS) !Your brain must have been CONDITION CODEd to produce such an off beat, out of the box grid that got many foxed ! thanks a lot.
ReplyDeleteAs for the tragic episode in your relative's home, thank God for small mercies that there were no loss of life or injuries ! These human contraptions of convenience are safe until they fail ! Thisn is what I used to warn the newcomers to Nairobi : Feel safe until you are attacked by gun-toting thugs !
+1. sitars played with my strings too as first one to get.
DeleteSree, if you see my message at 10.45 AM, you will get the hint that the answer given before was incorrect.
DeleteThanks, once again.
