    2. Would you rather have "I'm confused AFTER this badly"?

    3. something like that would have been better for me

    4. I read confused as taken back. About as reversal indicator.

  3. Incognito had hinted last month- "See you in September"!

  4. Extraneous indicator helps the upcoming setters to understand how to draft clues in a better manner. I feel you can continue with the indicator.

    1. Probably the only debating point in Incognito clues. But I agree with KKR. Pls continue unless of course the setters object.

    2. +1 for extraneous indicator

  5. Eight of the solution words are yellow-shaded while others are not. What does such shading denote?

As per the prescribed colour scheme, "cavort" at 15 down should have the anagram indicator colour, whereas Letter Pick colour has been applied.

happy colour indicators are getting added in stead of being removed. More the merrier for us, although more work for you.

  6. Nice puzzle! The lame IA version didn't have much role to play today.
Having never seen the movie, didn't guess the theme.

    1. Strangely since yesterday [or the day before], the IA version, is not displaying the particular clue when I selected the clue number AC/DN. I have to go all the way down to see what the clue is. Is it the same with you all?

      Delete
    2. Yes. That is why I used the term "Lame" IA version

    3. Also auto-movement of cursor is erratic; for some clues the yellow highlight doesn't appear

      Delete
    4. The yellow highlight will appear only if the cursor is placed in the square containing the first letter of the word

      Delete
    5. Further to the above the highlight will appear only for the Across solution if there is a Down solution also starting at the same square

    6. Thanks Col. for the clarification. I was placing the cursor in the middle of the word and looking for a yellow highlight.

    7. This IA version is irritating now-a-days. :(

    8. Thank God. I did it on paper today and the pleasure of solving Incognito CW was not spoiled.

  7. Col: Now that many are complaining , joining me, about the IA version, which is , to say the least, the worst ever software to use for an online version, can you PLEASE convert the grid to Acrosslite, like you do for the Sunday specials and have it posted as GRID? Last three days, I haven't been able to solve online and hence , the complaint of all can thus be easily solved. As it is, I miss the Sunday regular, ever since the Special was introduced and by accepting my suggestion several problems can be thus solved. I think, the Hindu is using the crossword segment to boost their revenue by adding so many ad- boxes and to worsen , a distracting moving image keeps dancing on the right of the grid ! Looks like they want the solver to do only on paper and if one chooses online version, bear the nuisance of the ads and distractions ! The cursor also starts fluttering and then after one has completed 90 % of the grid the most annoying AW SNAP ! pops out frustrating the solver to fill in all over again , after reloading !

i may add that we do not have such problems in any other online girds like the Guardian, 1 Across group, SParthasarathy 's etc .

giving brief notes on how to copy "old crossword page source to an html editor. Now i just replace only crossword part in the code."
I have html editor in text editor.
I am fairly advanced in playing around with d/l'd freeware.
I just need step-by-step guidance in this.
BTW, I can work around the problem Raju mentions (if I want to do a THC interatively) and I am asking this just to get to know what you are doing.

  9. Ref Raju's comment above. See my remarks in the blog for the Sunday CW
