Bhargav's Talepiece
Rani spoke to her Valentine in HINDI.
ARYA tu yeh toh SAMAJ!
What our friend Paul wished is not really MEANT TO HAPPEN here in India. IN GENERAL we here are very conservative.
No
doubt Paul had enough and more money. As a student from Australia he
had his own TOYOTA car. Never went for CHEAP RATE gifts. He was easily
ABLE TO PAY for costly gifts like MACADAMIA nuts and expensive dresses.
But his spirits had NOSE DIVED.
And the EXACT reason?
(After giving the camisole he had asked Pooja to TRY IT ON (in his presence). The denial was quite DISHEARTENING).

ReplyDeleteI still consider it as DD
DeleteI give full marks for the telescopic 7DN and 8DN
ReplyDelete+1- A Buzzer special.
ReplyDelete9D- I could not get 'electric' as an anind.
I did not know that bandicoots were marsupial.
ReplyDeleteWay to go CGB!
ReplyDelete+1
Delete20A- I was done in by the false capitalisation of Buzzer.
ReplyDeleteCGB Sir,
ReplyDeleteVery nice story.
Probably you intended macadamia? Macedonia seems out of place there
Yes. It should read macadamia.
DeleteCorrected
DeleteWe not only read your lines but between them as well!
ReplyDeleteIn continuation to Paddy's comment above (just for fun and no offence meant)....
ReplyDeleteReading between the lines.
1 Bob Smith, my assistant programmer, can always be found
2 hard at work at his desk. He works independently, without
3 wasting company time talking to colleagues. Bob never
4 thinks twice about assisting fellow employees, and always
5 finishes given assignments on time. Often he takes extended
6 measures to complete his work, sometimes skipping coffee
7 breaks. Bob is a dedicated individual who has absolutely no
8 vanity in spite of his high accomplishments and profound
9 knowledge in his field. I firmly believe that Bob can be
10 classed as an asset employee, the type which cannot be
11 dispensed with. Consequently, I duly recommend that Bob be
12 promoted to executive management, and a proposal will be
13 executed as soon as possible.
Addendum: That idiot was standing over my shoulder while I wrote the report sent to you earlier today. Kindly re-read only the odd numbered lines.
In crossword parlance, read lines regularly
DeleteNice one MB
DeleteGood one MB. Somehow it struck me to read alt. lines, probably because of the numbering.
ReplyDeleteCracking puzzle! Loved all clues but go with Ramesh for the surface of 8D.
ReplyDelete20D should be semi & Lit as "this" has no role in word play
ReplyDeletethis is actually the DEF! imu.
DeletePerhaps. This makes the whole clue to be read as definition but it has no role in WP. Hence semi & Lit
Deleteok.thanks.
