      Hypatia : A Greek goddess. I knew it is Sowmya because of the Book: CROSSROADS.

Appreciate the fact taht he has taken time to provide detailed feedback to me even from my Brand Crossword days.

      The intended annotation is that it is a Composite Anagram &Lit where SEES YARMULKE* = ASYLUM SEEKER*. I see that it might have been misleading as pointed out by Colonel and in hindsight, might have worked better with a definition.

    XyyX or XXyyXX or XXXyyXXX, essentially, will all yield yy as yy is right in the centre or middle (in essence) with equal number of letters on either side.
