20A IMO is O+VAL(-e), Vale is also synonymous with valley (area between hills). "Cut" usually refers to only removing the last letter.

DeleteAdd to Ramki's list Shroff as a banker. Though have come across many Shroffs(including the movie star Jackie and his son), never knew them as Bankers. Some cracking clues including the rebus All in a heap. Though a bit on the tough side, Gridman is as entertaining as ever.
