CH (two letter code for Switzerland)
If I may add AJ...
DeleteWhy is Switzerland country code ch?
The Latin name for the country, Helvetia, still appears on Swiss stamps. The letters CH appearing on Swiss cars and in internet addresses stand for the Latin words Confoederatio Helvetica, meaning Swiss Confederation.
AJ mam. good solve. I could not get anno for AY. Though I got the answer. Very good puzzle by Krisscross.
Deletewell explanation MB sir....+1.
DeleteAJ mam always cracking a tough one.
@MB
DeleteThank you for adding notes. I refrained from elaborating for two reasons.
(i) people may already be familiar with it
(ii) wanted to publish exactly at 11:00, else someone else will grab the opportunity.
😄
Delete👍👍👍 AJ Mam! I could not parse though I got ACHY

ReplyDelete@Sathia on 10.30- I will be happy if Col. does not make it 11.30! He wants more Sathia's to get enlisted!!!
ReplyDeleteVery true Paddy. The regulars now, far outnumber non-regulars. If the time is advanced, the non - regulars may lose out.
Delete10A STRAIT (sound-narrow passage) hears like straight (right) when speaking

ReplyDelete21dn say = eg
ReplyDeleterebellion - Reversal indicator

Clue read (eg) (a) <=
DeleteNo. (Rebellion,say) reaching A. eg reversed reaches A behind Bond. Reversal only for eg.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteThe anno I had in mind was reversal of (EG A) after BOND. Not just EG. If only EG is reversed it could lead to BONDGEA.
Delete21d- BOND A (ge=<)
ReplyDeleteIn rebellion say= eg reversed, reaching A.
Again behind Ramesh! Always following!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ramki for the interesting exercise.
ReplyDeleteA score of 450+(whatever it means) on Ramki's puzzle is a festive bonanza.
DeleteMark of a champion!
DeleteThank you! Glad you liked it.
DeleteGreat one from The master. Could not get 15 down though.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nagendra.
DeleteOne of the clues is incorrect. (Alas is my) doesn't anagram to Malaysia. There's an extra S (and an A missing) in the fodder.
ReplyDeleteOops! Yes you are right. Careless mistake from my side, apologies.
Delete@ col.sir...Glad to seen the image of 29A. the same Tie-Dye tried at home. well coincidence.
ReplyDeleteRamki - one doubt - (alas + is + my)* - does not give Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteOne S is more & 1 a is less.
Kindly check.
Gowri you are right. This was a slip-up from my side, as pointed out by Sarvesh (@17:44) too. Sorry about that.
