Ghaza - the grid is like a ghazal! Nice clues like 4,5,7D and 11,27A. If you are pedantic 26A can be brickbat as not fully contained, maybe rainfall instead? Please do put in more grids and thanks for a good crossword
Thanks a lot, Ramesh. I've sent a couple more to Colonel. Now I'm deliberating whether to look at the clues again and re-work. Or just let it be and go to the next one.
I'm expecting brick-bats for 28a and 23d. Do give your feedback. Is such clueing "an absolute no-no" or would you call it "bad clueing, but we won't ban you if you sneak in just 1-2 like this on rare occasions"
I just noticed 'explosiva'- an indication to change the last letter from E to A. Maybe you will have some brickbats from the experts. 'Explosiva' is not a proper word.
Yes, Explosive is for Grenade. When I wrote this clue first, I put explosiva to indicate changing the last letter from e to a. Then I thought that clues should not be constructed like this. Later I thought let's try and get feedback from all you experienced folks.
I was able to follow what you must have meant. But not sure of using a non-word,if I may say so. Probably an indication or a ? might have helped. Let's see what others have to say.
