    24d) I think it should be holders of ashes. It was an oversight from my end
    22a) When I googled, I got alum as a synonym for old student. Hence I took the liberty to use it. It is an informal usage though
    14d) boring life is le. Anagram of (if I did so le)*. Could be is the anagram indicator
    6d) Important - Vital. Very important gives Vita
    meal primarily is m. Compound is anagram indicator. (in a m)* gives min a. The whole clue is the definition

    Two clues remain - 14ac and 2d
