ReplyDeleteSorry. It is okay.
ReplyDeleteSomething I noticed when my previous CW got blogged: Tuesdays seem to elicit the fewest comments/feedback :-(. Setters (and thus the crosswords themselves, going forward) benefit greatly from feedback, please do chime in with your +ve/-ve/neutral comments!
ReplyDeleteI feel bad too on seeing very few comments. About CW getting better with feedback, I am fully in agreement with you. Apart from that the fun in solving is lost unless it is discussed with others. Let's hope, going firward,we have more participation.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a school boy, I used to live in a independent house and we used to get hard copy of newspaper at 545 am or latest by 0600. May be 20 - 30 houses in a road. These days living in condominiums the number of flats is in hundreds. By the time I get the hard edition it is 8 am. I talked to the delivery boy in this regard. He says with lot of annexures in the newspaper the weight he has to carry is increasing. And except for a few old bandicoots like me no one questions the delay. This cannot be the reason for not receiving early responses on one day in a week. But my 2 cents on this.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise it was a very enjoyable crossword by AD with some lovely word plays.
RR- we are in a minority awaiting print edition! Almost everyone does it on line. It is published at midnight and Prasad has often said he solves the CW at night.
ReplyDeleteOh, is it so Paddy? No wonder he is the first to comment in the blog after Col comes out with his solution. I see your comments early too. ZSomehow I have become addicted to solving the sudoku and the the crossword simultaneously. Keep moving from one to the other whenever i get stuck Nothing like the feeling of satisfaction of filling the grid with the pen when you know that your solution is the right one.
ReplyDeleteMy sleeptime is 1.30 night to 630am. So most of the times i solve before sleeping.
DeleteAnd then around 8am is breakfast time. So time to visit online..
Except incognito/lightning/anon. Which i like to keep as a race on breakfast table.
I am by far the last solver here. After finishing all my housework - I do sudoku first & then cw.
ReplyDeleteOfcourse pen (fine tip) & paper.
The thrill of finishing the grid & checking - right before bed time - best for dreamless sleep.
🙂
Today's grid was on the harder side. Many nice clues. My fav -
ReplyDeleteUNDERAGE, ISOSCELES, SINCERELY.
Thanx AD.
