  7. We used to call the Jampan by the name of Doli- used to carry old and infirm people up mountains. Not sure which language it is from.

      jampan noun an Indian sedan chair. jampanee or jampani noun (jampanees or jampanis) its bearer.
      ETYMOLOGY: 19c: from Bengali jhampan, Hindi jhappan.

    As my brother was unwell & hospitalised, I couldn't visit the blog, nor make a Rangoli for Eid.
    Today, after surgery, he was discharged from Hospital & is back home.
