ReplyDeleteSlightly tougher than yesterday?
It is tough compared to last two days. But, interesting and challenging and had many Aha moments. I simply couldn’t get 9D, since clue was talking about podiatrist(foot expert) and I couldn’t relate it to corns in foot and its removal. Had it been just economising with different surface probably I could have cracked immediately. Hats off Dr.X for today’s wonderful CW.

Mainly, not mostly .
DeleteNot quite happy with 'mainly' for removal of last letter. It has to be mostly. Mainly will be central letter/s.
Delete+1. It is the Setter's right to confuse the solver.
DeletePaddy,
DeleteMainly means - For the most part; chiefly
Mainly/ chiefly indicate the core of it. Mostly may indicate removal. That is how we have been doing so far. Seems like for first time for me.
DeleteI also couldn't parse IMPARTED.
DeleteOtherwise lovely crossword.
