  1. Col, anno for 9D needs a correction. The given anagram fodder does not lead to the answer.
    The anno I had in mind was:
    Case of cancer = C-R (end of chars)
    Endless pain = PAI
    Anagram of (C-R + ALLEVIATE + PAI) => PALLIATIVE CARE
    Def = treatment
    The whole clue is intended to be an extended def for PALLIATIVE CARE
