    1. Naresh, Why are you repeating what is already there in the main post? You don't seem to be reading the main post or reading the comments of others

  8. 1D "Zemstvos" even Russians wouldn't remember this word. Setters may like to avoid such obscure trivia since all we do to complete the puzzle is to do web search, fill the squares and then forget the word

  14. A personal msg to share -

Today something unimaginable happened for me in solving today's CW (I have been addicted to doing CWs since the last about 2 years).

Usually I am adept at solving the CW by adopting 3 methods - Look for (1) Synonyms, (2) Anagrams & (3) First/Starting letters of the CW sentence.

I am no good at unknotting the meanings of individual words in a sentence-clue and then deducing the answer out of those meanings.

But today, if I have to say in terms of wealth, it was like winning a lottery.

Yes, I was searching to solve 4-Down by looking for synonyms for 'time of atonement'. Unable to find 3,6 words, that too starting with 'Y', I was about to abandon, when, Oh, God ! I happened to see the words, 'Yom Kipper' in the commentary portion of synonyms. Alas, I hear these words for the first time in my (... years of) life (age is secret, wl not be revealed) and it was amazing to have found the answer of an unknown Proper Noun, that too, in the commentary part of the synonym.

So, I felt like having got some intuitive development in my CW-life !!!

    That's it, Dear Sirs/Mams (Do u agree😁😁😁 ?)

  15. Even with so many unusual words - I solved becos clues were straight forward. Had to only Google to check the veracity of the solution words.

Actually enjoyed SIOUX, XHOSA, APOGEAN and YOM KIPPUR.
    Thanx Vidwan!
