GRID
Bhargav's Talepiece

The bouncer and the dancer - Part 93

To improve the BOTTOM LINE Clement had gone in for an ABNORMAL expansion in unrelated businesses which was to be his WATERLOO.

The oncoming DISASTER could have been averted had Clement heeded to the NUGGET of wisdom given by Uncle Sam in their ONE TO ONE meeting.

This despite Clement holding Uncle Sam in high ESTEEM and the BOND between them being quite strong - nurtured over many years.

Would a businessman in America in his right mind ADJUDGE CANBERRA as a suitable place to open a SUBWAY? Only a LOCO.

What happened next?

    2. Kishore's grid is of very Low Tension intensity ! Such a delight.

However, this doesn't mean that I don't enjoy others who bring in High Tension Grids. Hard and tough clues are necessary for a contrast purpose.

    2. Thanks for noticing it, Sree! That is exactly what I intended! While marriage may be bond or married may be bonded (for some spouses :) ), I have used it as a concatenation indicator for concatenating the previous wods. I have written some more clues of this type which you may encounter in future. As against a charade, where components are usually clued in with synonyms, and sometimes with a placement indicator like 'after' , here the components appear as they are along with a concatenation indicator. As there are no extra letters used it is not the same as a telescopic clue. Just st an attempt to try something new. Hope solvers like it.
