One of the very few XC puzzles that I could complete without too much strain (read cheating :-)). Ticked I'll be bound(wonder if the apostrophe should have been enumerated) , Private Dick and Feeling the pinch among other clues. Thanks XC and Ramesh
ReplyDeleteGreat puzzle. Thanks Ramesh.
DeleteVasant, I never saw the apostrophe part enumerated. We have seen "ONE'S" being enumerated as 4 and not 3'1, right?
I have seen the apostrophe part enumerated in some puzzles but the convention I think is not to enumerate. Enumerating would make it easier.
DeleteIt would be a giveaway in this case
Delete@Suresh:yes if you had the opening crossing of I
DeleteI had I and L and was looking for ill

Delete15a Pressure dropping inside :PE. (pe+in+flight+hence)* gives the solution.

DeleteBrilliant clue and solve!
DeleteDidn't understand 16D. I get the annotation, crazy = nuts, nightmare = hell. But, what does it have to do with Brazil?
ReplyDelete18D. What word gives gas?
Could someone please help? Thanks.

Expecting it.
ReplyDelete4D- Born is Nee, right? I think we are one E short.
ReplyDeleteI too thought so. But on verification with Chambers, it has the following meaning:
Deletené /nā/
adjective
(of a man) born, used in giving the original name of a titled man
ORIGIN: Fr
One is masculine form and another feminine form in French. We have become n familiar only with the latter.
