ReplyDeleteThe finals were played in a quiz format. The across clues were taken first one at a time. After solving all across clues, the across clues were erased from the solved grid which was projected on the screen and then down clues were taken.

In fact in this puzzle, no clues went to the audience.. I remember 13A was solved by Narayan Mandayam in a jiffy.
