DeleteWelcome. Lovely clues. Clue of the Day 19D
Delete+7
Delete9a is there a OED for undésea:unelevated!
ReplyDeleteElevation is always with respect to ground/earth. Not sea level.
Seamounts are elevatons.
Elevation is represented as xxx meters above mean sea level
DeleteIts a representation for comparision, Col. Primary is above ground level.
DeleteAnd even accepting that undersea would be depressed, not unelevated.
Unelevated would be level/sealevel
You are right. But I was responding to your statement that 'Elevation is always with reference to ground/earth. Not sea level'
DeleteIt appears Unelevated hs Undersea as a synonym in the Cambridge dictionary
DeleteHmm..thanks Col.
DeleteCambridge has "un" as antonym!

DeleteExcellent CW given by Pixie Dust aka Mona Saigal. The moment I saw 2D clue I had the hunch this must be a new female setter. Very clever wordplay seen in 24A, where you will be looking for clown cap, 18A heart being used as core meaning, 23A & 8D.
ReplyDeleteThanks for an entertaining CW.
By the way, Angel Dust I have heard why this Pixie Dust?
