    3. I think 22dn is also not solved.
      ADHERE - respect?
      A + D (H+E)R E.
      a + doctor - Dr
      Controlling containment indicator
      He - Hepatitis
      E - drugs
What is the role of causes chiefly here?

      Delete
    4. I also had my doubts here. Admire suits for respect. But fir that 28A has to be 'Panatila'. Is there any alt.spelling?
Also it has to be parsed as AD(MI)RE.
E from drugs. But how do we get MI from 'controlling hepatitis causes'?

    5. Is there a deliberate misdirection! (Allowed in competitions).

    6. Paddy, tequila, heartless, gives TE[-qui]LA. So, it should be PANATELA only. Also, there is no alt. spelling as PANATILA.
22Dn IMO, it is ADHERE. However, to pick H from hepatitis, the clue shouldn't have 'causes'

    8. Adhere is not respect. It is at best 'follow'.
