ReplyDeleteYes, intended &lit
DeleteIsthmus took the cake today.
ReplyDeleteAlso, liked the wp in 18A- difficult to delink or/ in the front.
A doubt about 17D- IMO, linger is to delay/ loiter rather than stop.
Though "stay" and "loiter" are more common synonyms for linger, both Chambers and Collins have listed "stop" as a synonym.
DeleteThere is a mistake in 4a
ReplyDeletePlease read it as "Romeo, endlessly in love, essentially passionate... it is all-consuming! (8)"
4a. Romeo in love, essentially passionate - it is all-consuming! (8) {ROMEO IN OV}* - Omnivore
ReplyDelete9 letters in fodder!
DeleteYes - I posted the corrected clue above in comment. It has been corrected online now.
Delete4 Omnivore (All consuming) - anagram of Rome(o) in ov (love, essentially)
ReplyDeleteCorrect. Well solved!
