DeleteM or K being the def.
ReplyDeleteFor once, it seemed a long wait to 8.30. If it was fast yesterday, it was a dash today.
ReplyDeleteGot Twenty thousand Leagues under the sea, but did not Journey to the Centre of Earth. Both good classics. Lots of water all around from the pond (read ocean) to the well.
For a long time, I was thinking about dogs for canines. Neatly done.
ReplyDeleteThat and the pond were the last to fall (though I liked the expression 'across the pond)
November started and ended with Incognito
ReplyDeleteRare. Good spotting!
ReplyDeleteA bookseller who sold HISTORY books and fiction like TWENTY THOSAND LEAGUES under the sea, YEAR books and books to prepare you for the EXAM was in a low in business.
ReplyDeleteBooksellers with common INTERST UNITED and held discussions and SKETCHED a plan.
The HEADMAN said: Our business should not sink in POND, LAKE, STREAM or OCEAN. Let us not undercut. UNITED we shall stand."
These words sounded a good OMEN.
They ADEPTLY rescued themselves.
Is the famous bookseller near Luz corner still in business?
ReplyDeleteI didn't see him recently. But Nehru is still there.
ReplyDeleteI knew he was not well and hospitalised. His wife was running the show! Amazing.
DeleteSolvers may speculate on the strategic mistake I committed when deciding the themes for this puzzle. The mistake arose due to my faulty memory. It has no impact on solving the puzzle.
ReplyDeleteMysterious island would have found the natuilus and Nemo's fate.
DeleteAuthor of both the classics was Jules Verne. You probably meant it to be Wells (H.G.)
DeletePerfect, Paddy. Wells was supposed to be the common word between the two theme.
DeleteI too was wondering why Wells was in the CW
DeleteNow you don't have Far(to)go
DeleteYeaterday, you said 'wait till tomorrow' when we were searching for a theme. What you probably meant was that we will have 2 in 1 today.
ReplyDeleteYes, sir. Some more double themes with a common member await you
DeleteCan't wait to solve them.
DeleteLovely thematic puzzle!despite the Wells mistake.

DeleteWell(s)... it is not a mistake really. Let us put it as another clue not connected to the theme.
DeleteRight Paddy
DeleteEnergy (out of love) flow becomes WATT measures.
DeleteShouldn't there be an indicator to imply Jacob=Israel?
ReplyDeleteTHe Me in Incognito is revealing ?! Subtle egotism?
Jacob brewed -> he brewed
DeleteThe Biblical Jacob is also called Israel
Delete26A Cricket lovers will remember Sehwag's speciality
