Bhargav's Talepiece
The bouncer and the dancer - Part 97
Clement's SHENANIGANS didn't seem to work.
Vain ran* the GALA NIRVANA offer! Didn't have a GHOST of a chance!!
However Clement had a strong will. And as the PROVERB goes, where there is a will there is a way.
BUSINESS minded Clement came to know that the officer's son was ever on the look out for coins to be added to his collection. He went to the officer's house with some rare PFENNIGS, GANDHI 5 Rupees coins and many more.
No WAGERS as to what happened next.
Anyone can IMAGINE that!!
28A: ORE is foreign currency (1/100 of a Krone). I think "collects" is used as a connector.

DeleteThats is how I took it. Hence the link to Ore when you click on foreign currency. Collect was wrongly coded as pink (letters to be used) instead of pale blue(connector).
DeleteFixed that now. Thanks
16d Indian govt, as do I , will have a serious objection.
ReplyDelete:-)
DeleteI have no objection as long as the fight is between Pakistan and China
DeletePakistan border with china isnt yet a settled matter between aIndia and China, sub to correction.

ReplyDeleteI like CGB's sketch- posture, features, facial expression, the hammer and the piggybank - all have come out well.

Delete+1. Hopefully the cntents of the piggy bank too!
ReplyDeleteJust saw India lose the match.
Thankk God I didnt see it! One man who never scored anything to boast of in England gamely fought on. Very little support at the top or in the middle. The innings by Curan proved to be decisive.
DeleteLogo hint: Watch the current test series between India and England.
ReplyDeleteOh, OK, I got it...NATWEST?
DeleteYes Sir.
DeleteThat was a CD, CGB.
DeleteBut what else here:-)
