    3. Bench is short for Bench-press. As in he can bench 400 pounds. Power of pectoral muscles determines how much one can bench..hence Bench strength perhaps (with the ?). Skill of team's reserve players= direct defn.

  29. Hi Doc ! It is such a pleasure , nay euphoria, nay nirvana, to do your creations. Despite the cursor fadfadaoing due to too many ads popping and disturbing the grid, I did this yesternight, even after a frustrating erasure of the entire grid nearly completed and I had to redo all over again just to get JOG ONE@S MEMORY. Can't the Hindu do something to improve their software and reduce the number of Ads ? nonuple x nonuple times thanks. Your clues are always unique and so refreshing ! Eternal triangle is formed when the Mr RIGHT doesn't turn out to be the one and hence turned out. What's the antonym for MR RIGHT ? Don't tell me it is MISS WRONG ! Why can't the men or women convert their spouses to Mr Right or Miss Right after the marriage ? Or is it Variety is the SPICE ( plural of SPOUSE ?)of life ? They don't realize '' ONCE BITTEN, always bitter ? or the Sweetest ?

I read CV's comments and your response. Life also is like a cryptic
Puzzle-- so many trials and errors !

Col: How many newbies or old drones you have netted in this website since you started the Friday challenge? I see very many names unseen of. Welcome to all of them to this web of deceit called Cryptic puzzles.
