1a typo? Def:problem
ReplyDeleteIf problem is def., why retreat?
ReplyDeleteBoth problem and retreat could mean backward.
Child, say, rebelled = WARD<< = DRAW
Deleteretreat = BACK
Rebelled itself is retreat.
DeleteRetreat is pull back or fall back and not just ' back'
DeleteGot it Ramki. Thank you.
DeleteIn my opinion it is
DeleteRetreat= drawback
Problem is back
Child is ward say rebelled becomes draw
Sathia
Can it be classified as MD!
DeleteA ward is a problem child. That should clarify I think
Delete20d- Is second reject?
ReplyDeleteIs it in the sense of seconds in a sale?
Yes. Not just sale.
DeleteLike steel products that dont pass quality check are called seconds (if they have alternate use which is at much lower than first use and/scrap if the value (price-cost) is negligivle.
Back in the 70's there was as shop in Royapettah called Fairdeal which used to sell seconds of many leading brands of men's clothes. There would be a minor defect which was hardly noticeable like a stitch gone crooked and it would sell at maybe half the price.
Delete@ Suresh sir.....well said. Now the name fairdeal converted into factory outlet where wrong stitch, zip offset and other mirnor defects could seen. 50% off
DeleteI used to be at the junction of Royapettah high Road and Lloyds Road
DeleteIt used to be
DeleteNice WP about 15D & offered e-samosa. pic. induces to have more.
ReplyDeleteHello all...
ReplyDeleteHow come there are no discussions on IXL rounds this year ? Last year I remember there used to be some kind of discussion every week. Or is there a separate forum for IXL discussions ?
There is a IXL Players group on Facebook. You can join and comment on IXL CW's there, though as of now there have been no controversies or discussions this year
DeleteThanks for the info.
DeleteYes,I too miss them.
ReplyDeleteEven normally there is very little discussion except for the one or two real toughies.yet to see one if those this year. Maybe tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI slipped from 15 to 27 because i made a single mistake. My first mistake this year.
So n
yeah, same with me. But it happened like thrice with me this year. I complete 75% of the crossword in 1hr and then break my head for the rest of the clues. Worst thing is I commit one silly mistake and I go to the bottom of the table.
DeleteThere were days a mistake or two would still get you to top 30 if you due deligently do all the rounds. Now its no way.
DeleteSuresh, yet to see seems prophetic now.
Deleteyeah, quite tough today. Even though personally round-2 took the longest for me. I hope I did not make silly mistakes today !!
DeleteI was at sea until i realised the setter.
Deleteoh!! never knew that feature was available. Just saw it after your comment.
DeleteHow do you know who the setter is?
DeleteWell not exactly the setter. The link showed "powered by exolve". When I click on it, it took me to viresh ratnakar's GitHub. He may be the setter. Or maybe the setter is just using his template grid.
DeleteOh ok. I don't think that is the link to the setter. Exolve (developed by Viresh) is the platform used to host the online grids and hence that link "powered by Exolve" shows up. But he is not the setter for all the grids! (He does set 1-2 during the IXL cycle)
DeleteNo typos is an essential.
ReplyDeleteI put in Yodh without being fully convinced. I don't know much about Star Wars
I already guessed you must have made that error. It was the same error for me also. In another IXL round, the answer was "thymol". While verifying it online, I thought the last letter was "i" instead of "L" due to similarity in font. Thats it, I got kicked to the bottom of the table :-)
DeleteLater in the evening I got it but too late
