    2. It is N in E&T Y,right?
      First N from?

      Delete
    3. ENT means N IN E & T = N+IN+ET

    4. Looks a stretch to me. Anyway I take it since it is from Buzzer. Thank you all for being patient and explaining.

    5. Paddy look at it link this

      ENT can be read as N in E and T which can be written as {N}{IN}{ET} and then we have Y from YEARS so we get {N}{IN}{ET}{Y}

    6. Thank you Col. & Raghu.
I took E&T as just ET and not as N in ET. It is clear now.

    7. Finally I too got convinced with the explanation shown above!

    1. Its a homophone: PSIS ~ Size

      Delete
    2. Greek character: PSI: (Ψ, ψ).

      Delete
    3. As Units of pressure is def could we have had (1,1,1,1) enu?

      Delete
    4. psi- we don't put dots. Though it is Pounds per Square Inch, it is written as P.S.I.

      Delete
    5. Typo- I meant 'It is NOT written as'.

      Delete
    6. Is it a DD. Unit of pressure PSI. Units ->psi's. Size say homophone(sighs) psis.

      Delete
    7. The anno needs tweaking, I think. Units of P: PSIS. Greek Character(s) : PSIS pronounced as 'size'

  3. Buzzer specialises in special T's,spanning multiple words.

    1. +1 and deceptively hidden. 9A was one of the last to fall.

  4. Garrotte was brought to everybody's knowledge in the classic movie " The Godfather".

  5. 24A I think it should be written as anag of CLEAN+ROOM around T
3down The clue gives FARE* before W na?

    1. 24 a: you're right.
3d: stretching it as per : http://www.crosswordunclued.com/2012/02/notorious-on-b-device.html. Though not sure if Buzzer would resort to it.

But "on" = 6 immediately after, at or before as per http://chambers.co.uk/search/?query=on&title=21st
First time I've referred to 'on' in Chambers and it justifies the use in this clue.

      Delete
    2. For 3D, I considered FARE+W as anagram with the opening extravagant being anagrind.

      Delete
    3. KKR,
You are right, but the question is it looks as though it is (fare)* followed by W. The explanation by Raghu above is to justify for W to be on top followed by (fare)*

      Delete
    4. KKR, then 'on' becomes superfluous

      Delete
  6. 6 down: Ability to hurl weapon- ARM ---- hurl = DD for ability or arm?

    ReplyDelete
  7. As I understood-
Ability to throw/ weapon = Arm

    ReplyDelete
  8. Replies
    1. Not really. The bowler has a good arm. (ability to throw)

  9. Excellent puzzle by Buzzer. As usual

  10. First time I enjoyed solving Buzzer . Thank you. Either I am improving or you are lowering your standard to cater to oldies like me.

  11. You can be happy that Buzzer's standard has not lowered (probably it is going up!)
