      You were the life saver for the Col this Sunday as what I'm compiling now for his pool is still in a nascent stage, as I want it to be very unusual.

    3. Superb puzzle, Ramki. Brilliant surface stories...many of them deviously clued. ATOM BOMBS, ON THE SPOT and THEISTS were my favs.

      Not counting the intersecting letters, 14A could also be WINE (to best = to win).
