A pet as Masking tape, clap as thunder, Murphy as Potato. Quite new things! Enjoyed solving today’s CW. Thanks Pixie Dust ( Mona Sogal).
DeleteSathia
Clap as thunder is quite common. In fact, we have the expression 'Thunderclap' for the noise. Murphy as potato may be rare but used- also spud.
DeleteMasking tape is new to me also.
Thank you Padmanabhan and Sathia
Delete14D- just to improve surface reading? ( or is it to make it knottier?!)
ReplyDelete6D - Notice = WARNING
ReplyDeleteFly. = WING
Nurse. = RN (Registered Nurse)
WING hovering around A and RN. W ( A RN) ING
I got warning, but could not parse fully. RN keeps eluding me.
ReplyDeleteYou do it promptly on Mondays and then leave it for others ( on request) on the following days!!! Good.

DeleteI am a rookie. For 7 ac. letters ch is clear. For other letters otenno , annotation is not clear to me. May someone explain.
ReplyDeleteCycling means some letters are going round. Here, Bill is Note and by cycling the first two letters (-no)Te to last it becomes Te (+no)
DeleteTakes in is container indicator for ch to go inside temp.
Sathia
Teno not temp
