Creatures=L
In taxonomy, several creatures are represented with L( after Linnaeus)
Whelks are carnivorous sea snails
Incorrect annotation. How is creatures = L?
DeleteIn my understanding, in CW, creatures or several can be represented as L.
DeleteSince 1000 is a big number,.larger,.it seems permissable. In Biology,.there is a convention too.
creatures and biological structures can be represented by the letter L, particularly in contexts involving modeling,.classification.
In scientific literature too, it is a common abbreviation.
Just checked.
Please check dictionaries. Your understanding is flawed
Delete8A, PASS
ReplyDeleteTravel=pass(one needs a pass to travel)
graduate= pass( one needs to pass to be a graduate)
Pass is just travel.
DeletePossible. Pass as a verb means move, so travel. Similarly, pass means a Degree given. So, graduate.
DeleteAccording to Cambridge, Pass Degree(Noun) means a Degree (Graduate =Degree, Holder of Degree)
In Indian English, passed out is graduated. In SBE, pass is just finishing a course whereas in American English , pass is just passing a course and doesn't mean graduating itself.
It has already been answered.
DeleteSorry for it. Will answer one more, to compensate.

And, ...
Friend, you try to do research in CW, which need not be the approach. Just see what the clues says. Once you have identified Definition, you have solved 50% of the clue, then remaining surface of the clue gives an idea on what type of clue, for this you can watch “connectors” in the clue like from, in etc which will further assist you to arrive at a solution. It is difficult to start but with more practice you can understand a cryptic clue better and that will improve your solving ability.
