  1. 3Dn. Small paper = Chad.

Those of us who witnessed the U.S. elections in 2000 became quite aware of the word chad. The ballots in Florida required the voters to punch out their chosen candidate's name from the so-called Butterfly ballot. Apparently many did not completely punch out thus resulting in hanging chads, dimpled chads, and so on.

  4. Hi Raghunath,
BR is abbreviation for Bridge, we use this abbreviation in the army, I presume it is used in civil circles and of course in crosswords

  5. Colonel,

1Dn - Play in water with an expert lawyer in the capital of Egypt(6)

The connotation should be {DAB}{BL}E since DAB is an abbreviation for an expert

    Do you agree?

I couldn't get LAIC yesterday - I was breaking my head over it for 15 minutes and gave up finally :-) LAI and LAIC are both new words to me.

  6. Hi Sembhayya,
Agreed. No point in trying to break your head over this setters clues, you will be headless in a jiffy if you do so !!!

  7. I hear you Colonel. I see the weirdest words ever from NJ than from any other setters. The annoying part is that they are nouns and I hate nouns :-)
