  1. I don't believe it is what a child could say after a bedtime story (4,2,7) – TELL ME ANOTHER [CD]

    I would classify it as "double definition", 'I don't believe it' being one and 'what a child could say after a bedtime story' being another.

  2. Hi CV,
    I did ponder over it for some time, but later settled for CD, now that you also mention it, it should be a DD

  3. Poet's book, 20/-
    Poet is the def, of course.
    EZRA is from the Biblical book of the same name and POUND is from 20/- which is 20 shillings making the higher denomination.

  4. Re 1Down. Parlous means dangerous. Terrible could also mean dangerous I suppose.The (R) would be the second R and not the first

  5. 11 - Wading bird, last in this list (5) – {S}{TILT}

    I put this ans in the HUB as STINT and as a [T] clue. Now, stint is also a wading bird, also called as a Sandpiper. STILT is also a wading bird, but the anno provided by you is not clear.

  6. Raghunath,
    11 - Wading bird, last in this list (5) – {S}{TILT}

    last in this = S
    list = TILT
    Wading bird = Definition = {S}{TILT}

  7. Thanks Chaturvasi,
    For EZRA
    Thanks Dobby,
    PARLOUS does mean PERILOUS; DANGEROUS so that is right

  8. 11 - Wading bird, last in this list (5)

    Raghunath, though STINT is a bird, the hidden element doesn't come here because if we take 'in' as the hid ind, it is followed only by the words 'this list' which do not yield STINT. Besides, in that case 'last' becomes redundant.

  9. CV,
    If STINT was to be the answer there is no indicator for the hidden element as STINT comes from 'last in this' and then the word 'list' becomes superfluous
