Deepak,
ReplyDeleteClosing my eyes to the mistakes in the crossword, I shall try to explain 26d. 'Some resistance' is the clue-writer's def for word req'd., the ref. being to eletrical resistance units. As for 'taxing demands', the ref. is to OHMS on mail posted by the UK Govt. The letters expand to On Her Majesty's Service (like OIGS in India). I shall not go into the merits or otherwise of the subsidiary ind.
24 - Sudden wind blast does not dampen exuberant enjoyment (5) - {GUST}{O}
ReplyDeleteCol,
What explain's the O at the end?
O Mr Manna !!!
ReplyDeleteMay there be less complications in solving crosswords. Yeh meri ta-MANNA hai !
