Hi
ReplyDeleteIt is ARGUABLE whether ‘attentive’ is an An-Ind in 31a.
Today’s Bangalore Metro Plus carries a piece on Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood’s show.
Ambrose Bierce’s Devil’s Dictionary defines a Dragoon(another mounted soldier aka 21a): A soldier who combines dash and steadiness in so equal measure that he makes his advances on foot and his retreats on horseback.
32a ASPIRE (~A SPIRE)
ReplyDelete33a May be spies should have been spy and then RES(TAR*)T
"Peace at last for a month from tomorrow"- Exactly!:)
ReplyDeleteIs everyone in mourning now that NJ's round is over? We should be celebrating!!
ReplyDeleteGood morning
ReplyDeleteI really wonder How come a student called scholar?
I am really appaled at some of the clues some time touched peak of confusion as if it is alps high. But i am surprised by the simplicity of clues for amber, dust, iron, photo henna. a rare NJism. stammered at STAMMEL just filled it. Canistel and Cappel really foxed me.
Good day
Mathu
Scholar: One of the definition is
ReplyDelete"2. One who attends school or studies with a teacher; a student."
So it's all right.
Celebrate we will now that the NJ ordeal is over.
ReplyDeleteI'm cheering, from Chennai.
