<= not applicable, over used in the sense of on, not reversal

    1. Oh, got it - it is not a typo. The answer has been omitted and only the anno has been put up.

    2. Thanks Sandhya. The answer got deleted by mistake when I was doing the final formatting, that's why only a b showed up where the answer should have been. Have corrected it now.

  4. What I love about Arden's cluing technique is the way he conceals anagrams in his clues. The anagram is never obvious and the surface reading is impeccable.
"7D Sit-ins may be the way to take a stand" is a classic case in point.
    Keep it going!

  5. 26 Endeavour to keep a preposition to draw (8) ASPIRATE {ASPIR{AT}E}

Does this require 'draw in or draw out'?

  6. Great run from Arden. Who is the next setter?
    Loved the hidden 'anaconda'!

  7. 18A : STEAK TARTARE Colonel's comment "Isn't that yummy" !!

Yummy alright but my Tummy can't take it !! :-)

  8. 27A : Doctor can see a philosopher (6) SENECA*

Doctor as anagram idicator for "can see" ! "Can't see" how one can get the answer without referring to WIKI !!

    1. Call it a doctor's visit...

'Doctor' as a verb - to mean 'to change in such a way as to make favorable to oneself' or 'to alter or modify for a specific end' - is often found in crosswords as an anagram indicator. I have come across it a few times through this blog.

    3. Richard@ : I was fooled by him ! Well, even if I'd taken it as anagram, I don't think I'd have got the answer
without the help of GOOGLE UNCLE !!

  13. Nice one from Arden. Liked STEAK TARTARE and ANGSTROM
Dos an anaconda also constricts like a Boa Constrictor ? What about a Python?Does an Asp also hiss like a Cobra? If it did, Cleopatra could have got a warning ! Eve in Eden was warned by God not to eat the apple but she obeyed when enticed by a serpent !

Had a great and peaceful day browsing around at the Norton Museum, in West Palm Beach. . Art galleries give one a sepulchre peace, reminding one of the past history. Makes one wonder about the transient nature of humans. None of the masterpieces should ever be sold to individuals as they are the property of posterity and hence public property.

Awesome beaches in West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale.

Here in Florida property belongs to the rich and then the wealthy and then the billionaires and trillionaires in that order ! ! Makes one wonder, how much money is enough money?. Most of the apartments, villas and mansions are shuttered up to be opened by the Rich North only in winter. Colossal and criminal waste of space on earth !
The drive along the promenades becomes monotonously clean what with manicured lawns and trimmed hedges, hiding the long drives and interiors.

Borrowed finances and unserviced loans !!
