17D Anno not clear. What is hidden in tall grass(sugar cane) ?
ReplyDeleteTall Grass is the definition. Hidden is for arcane with S,U and G for southern university girl
DeleteThanks Suresh !
Delete17D : In the anno arcane was shown as AR CANE, hence the confusion ! Perhaps that's the correct method I believe.
DeleteCould 3D be diabetes with a typo? Entered as diabeties?
ReplyDeleteYes. I have made a mistake here.
DeleteAnd thanks for pointing it out so politely :)
DeleteCrazy it may sound. On seeing Raju's comment I realise that the answer is diabetics. Submitted this long time back. Now need to check the crossings now.
DeleteIf it was so the clue is even more bitter :)
Delete12 Altar pieces uses rare red roses in modification (9) REREDOSES* An extra E?
ReplyDelete21 Symbolically indifferent clothing? (5) SHRUG [2]
27 Hideout in Indian base supplements (7) AD(DEN)DA, Adda: Indian base.
I am also seeing it now only. Checked my records. I find it as ' eight red roses' with eight for e. I have copied a wrong one when I made the Acrosslite version. :(
DeleteFeel 5D too is grammatically wrong.
ReplyDelete5 They don’t change as a non-entity (2,5)
Non- entities or 'It'?
Yes, it is wrong grammatically. But for the correct answer 'it' would not have suited . Nonetheless it is my mistake.
DeleteToo late to submit my choices of three. However, the clues were well formulated. Didn't like REREDOES and SHRUG, as they are too weak as clues.
ReplyDeleteI like the way the online solving is made easy by the system which should be adpopted for daily ones too .
Can some one here annotate for me as to why it should be DIABETICS out of :Do acerbic men escape this condition? (9)
Raju don't know why u think those 2 are weak. But you are entitled to have such an opinion :) my take on the other one was, acerbic was bitter, hence diabetics.
DeleteI'm yet to know the answer for 5D !!
DeleteMukundala , answer is ID Cards. Anno is Identity Cards - entity
