  1. 24 - Tea bag interchanged at home — this should make it sweet (9) - SACCHARIN {SAC}{CHAR}{IN}

    Further anno

    (-CHAR+SAC)(-SAC+CHAR)(IN)

    i.e. Tea bag=char sac, interchanged=sac char

  4. I like Arden's style on the whole, he comes up with natural anagrams and smooth surfaces. The problem is that this is sometimes at the expense of cryptic grammar.

    With some clues just a little rewording will help.

    e.g. 28a: Bay lumberjack busy at his post, perhaps (7)

    The definition leads to an adjective. This can be improved by making the definition a verb phrase of which the answer is the subject:

    Bay lumberjack is busy at his post, perhaps (7)

    14d: The German Parliament building will get chairs replaced (9)

    "will" can be replaced with the less intrusive connector "to".

    The German Parliament building to get chairs replaced (9)

    1. I thought that was 'Aao twist karen'

    2. Suchi, as Suresh rightly says, 'Aao twist karen' is the answer. And I don't mean we do the twist the next time we meet , though we can still do that ;-). We just got to give a twist to the ribbon to form a pseudo mobius strip and it will keep running both halves...

    5. Ah thank you for clearing that up. Kishore, that's a nice area to have your office in...with a theatre facility, a mall, a post office and a police station all within reach - pick what you like :)
