    Recently I saw a foreign tourist pedalling a unicycle on the busy TTK Road in Alwarpet area of Madras. I hailed to him and he acknowledged the greetings.

    Solved 9 of them, which for me is a rare delight. Anagrams appear to be my weakest point - I figure out the letters but am failing to get the right word. Enjoyed solving the puzzle. :)

      The most common method is writing the letters in a circle. In an old Guardian crossword collection paperback that I bought at a raddi shop, the solver has written the letters in a triangle!
      Another one is writing all the vowels in one line and consonants in another line.
      That way the anagram may suggest itself to you.
      More studious learners use Scrabble tiles and move them around. This is labour-intensive and time-consuming.

    Nice puzzle. Ardent virtually walked us or rather me along the right path. The words 'crabby', 'asthenia' & 'yeshiva' were not even in my passive vocabulary. Yet I could make them by taking cue from the clues.Really a crafty sculptor. Thank you. Arden.

    One way to move = Definition = UNICYCLE
    a pawn broker = UNCLE (see dictionary)
    merciless = ICY
    heart = Location indicator to indicate that 'ICY' is within UNCLE
